Psalm 143:5

Two quick key words I want to point out from todays verse the word meditate, I just think about what it means to meditate on something, to have it your complete thought, what would it be like to meditate on the word of God to have it be the center of your thoughts, how would your life be different how would my life be different. How if the first thought I had about anything reaction to anything I would intialy think and turn to scripture how different I would be. Pondering the works of the Lord, how great it would be. My pray is we all can move closer to this.

Psalm 119:15-16

Couple things jump out at me today, might just be where I am at currently or the things I have been thinking about, but these are my thoughts righ away. Verse 15 is telling us to meditate and think about the comands of scripture, and I can honestly saw that I do a very poor job of meditating on the word of God. I think that is why sometimes I can feel disconnected to it. Then in those times it just doesn't feel as important to me as I know that it is and should be. I wonder how mnay of you feel the same way. You see I have become more and more convinced that part of the reason in our lives sometimes we don't read the bible or implement it into our lives is because we don't think about the word, meditate on it, delite in what it says, then we forget about it,and how important the word of God should be in our lives. What are ways you meditate of the word of God?

Psalm 1:1-2

One of the first verses I choose to meomrize when I was in a small group long a ago. Some great warnings and encourgaments with in these two verses. Love the first verse "who walks not in the counsel of the wicked" Great question who do you walk closely with, what adivce or influence do they have on you? That first verse is all about who do you surround yourself with, and allow influence on your life? The second verse is raising awareness for the importance of imprinting the word of God on our hearts keeping it close to us all of the time. What verses do you keep close to your hear?

Joshua 1:8

A convicting verse today, because I know that there are often times the book of the law is not on my mouth and I am not mediating on the word day and night. It's hard because I can make many many excuses why I am not doing this, but it clearly is talking about the benifits of both of these practices. It will make your ways prosperous and give you success. Now it doesn't say what the success is, however I know the more I am in the word and meditating on it, I know my life is different and my perspective on things that happen to me are completly different. How do you stay grounded in the word?

Acts 17:11

I like in this verse the " they received the word with all eagerness" because my initial thought is am I eager to receive the word? and if I am not how come? Is it because I don't always like what it will say sometimes, or just don't think that it is relevant in my life. I am sure that at certain times in my life it can be because of both reasons. It's funny though in the times I don't want to read my bible, or I force myself to open it up, I have probably learned the most through those times, and I rarely am I dissatisfied with what I read, more often I am convicted because I didn't pick it up sooner and learn form God's Word. what about you? what motivates you to open the bible? what struggles do you have receiving the word?

2 Timothy 2:15

I really like today's verse, partly because it's a call to obedience, and for me it's something I have to remind myself daily. Who I claim I am following, and what does that mean for my life. Now we know that purely by our works we are not saved. It's directly because of Jesus Sacrifice that we are forgiven of our sin. However the word of God was given to us to realize that truth, and for us to see the character of God by how Jesus lived and breathed on earth. Why wouldn't we want to emulate this man who sacrificed all for us. Not out of obligation, but out of honor and love for what He did for us. It comes down to our hearts, are we chasing down Jesus. What are you Chasing?

Psalm 19:14

Great prayer to get us in the right place in times of business or dry periods in our lives, of for me especially. This verse really makes me think about what are the meditations of my heart, and are they pleasing to God. I know there are times where this is a real struggle for me. I do know from experience that when I am rooted in scripture and focused on what it is saying in my life, my mouth and heart are in a much much better place. This is really why I feel like this verse is relevant to our lives and our lives in reading scripture. What are the meditations of your heart?
