Day 11 Reflection

I will be the first to day this reading of Luke 11 was a bit confusing to me, I have read it a couple times, and for some reason this time it was hard to understand. Some of you reading through Luke may find this happening to you some times, For sure there will be times that reading the Bible may be confusing and difficult, my encouragement to you is to keep reading, maybe it will take a couple of times reading through the same Chapter, it may mean coming back to this chapter after a little while to read it again, or asking a trusted friend or Pastor, the point being if you don't understand something don't give up and say it's too hard, keep working through you never know when God will reveal something to you. That being said there was a portion of this Chapter that did catch my eye. Verses 33-35 was interesting to me this time around. 33 “No one lights a lamp and puts it in a place where it will be hidden, or under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, so that those who come in may see the light. 34 Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eyes are healthy, your whole body also is full of light. But when they are unhealthy,[h] your body also is full of darkness. 35 See to it, then, that the light within you is not darkness. 36 Therefore, if your whole body is full of light, and no part of it dark, it will be just as full of light as when a lamp shines its light on you.” I think what is relevant to me in this section is the importance of what we take in with our eyes. "When your eyes are healthy, your whole body also is full of light" A warning from Jesus that we are to protect what we watch, what we spend our time looking at , I think in our culture that can mean many things from the time we spend watching things, maybe it is what are we looking at, whether it be in magazines, the internet, on TV, It could also mean where are our eyes leading us, we can't go where our eyes don't lead us. As a follower of Christ there is a standard that God calls us too, and in these few verses I truly believe this is a warning to keep track of where we let our Eyes go or lead us. That is a Good reminder the next time we are on the internet, or what we are finding our selves watching on TV. The eyes and mouth can be two of the most dangerous parts of our Bodies when it comes to Sin.
