Key Verse:
Luke 1:45 "Blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of what was spoken to her from the Lord" ESV
Luke 1:4 "That you may have certainty concerning the things you have been taught"
Faith is the theme of this first chapter to me, From Zechariah and Elizabeth having faith in the angel telling them they would be with Child, when Elizabeth was well beyond child bearing years, Mary having the faith to believe in what Gabriel was telling her, that she would bear this Child of God who was coming. Having faith in her God that she would be used by him as a servant. How often do we lack faith even in little situations, and how often do we look back and think why did I even doubt God? Faith is difficult sometimes because of the unknown, we are uncertain of what we can't see, that is the very reason the Book of Luke was written as we see in verse 4. This book was written for the skeptic, an eye witness account of the story and work of Jesus our savior, so that we would know exactly what happen.
Prayer: Lord I Pray that through this journey, my eyes are open to truth and the certainty of the Gospel of Jesus. Amen.
