Day 11 Luke 11

Key Verses 11:2-13, 11:39

Good Evening, tonight we are going to look at chapter 11, first want to hit prayer, and we see in Chapter 11 Jesus teaching his disciples to pray. Something that is kind of sneaky and sometimes we don't notice it enough, but there are many times through the Gospels that we read about Jesus seperating himself from the crowds so that he could pray. Asking for the spirits Guidance and the Father's strength get through some tough moments. I am going to copy the ESV versision the Lords prayer and then comment on it.
2"Father, hallowed be your name,
Your Kingdom come.
3Give us each day our daily bread, 4and forgive us our sins,
for we ourselves forgive everyone,
who is indebted to us.
and lead us not into temptation.

Verse two this call of adoration or praise to the Father, and praying to the father which to me just gives this special connection to God our father in heaven. Asking for the Kingdom of God to be present in our lives, giving us what we need on a daily basis.
Verse 4 is a great live of us asking for forgivness and confessing at the same time that we are sinful, to often we don't look in the mirror enough to see our own sin. And then the next line asks us to forgive those who have sinned againist us, something I know for me can be hard, because most of the time I have been hurt by the actions of those who have sinned againist me. Then the last line asking for help to not be lead into temptation, all though there is many this is teaching and showing how we must ask for protection.

What is neat is the next section of this chapter is about asking and pursuing God through our prayers, and giving us this picture of having a relationship with the Father through the intimate dialoge of prayer, as we will see later Jesus having with the Father as well.

Prayer: Take a look at the Lords prayer and earnestly tonight sit down and say it. What an awesome gift God has given us through this prayer. Amen
