Day 4 Luke 4

Key Verses 4:1, 4:6, 4:34, 4:36

Jesus is now starting his adult ministry and we see an interesting interaction between him and Satan. One key thing to take note is what is said in V.1" Jesus being full of the spirit" We see and know that Jesus although fully human on the earth did not walk alone as he lived on earth. The other interesting thing that I wanted to point out was in verse 6 what the devil was offering, he was offereing Jesus power and authority on this earth if he chose to worship the Devil. Thought is was very interesting that the Devil does have authority of earthly things and gives power to some of those who worship him. I see this too much in the world and i too can struggle with worldy things tempting me and enticing me. But never really thought of struggling with worldy things be something the Devil would have a hand in, I just always thought of it as a distraction to pursuing Christ. The encouraging thing about the Devil and his authority is that it is limited and we serve and God who has authority over earthly things and the evil one.
As we see in verse 4:34, and 4:36 as we see Jesus healing a man poesessed by an evil spirit. The spirit leaves, and the people are amazed in the power Jesus has over evil spirits. A cool picture of what and who Jesus is in our lives,

Prayer; Jesus over this time of Advent reveal to us your power, and let us experience the grace and power of who you are in our lives. As we read your gospel makes us more confident in who you are and what you can do in our lives. Amen
