Key Verses 2:29-32, 2:51
Chapter 2 is a glimpse of Jesus's growing up years, a couple of cool insights. First Simeon;s blessing, here is a man of God full of the Spirit, at the end of his life waiting on the promise of God that he would see the savior before he dies. He sees baby Jesus and says in Verse 3 "my eyes have seen your salvation" speaking to God. Just a cool moment in time for someone holding on to the promises that God had given him.
Second neat thing I picked up was in the story of Jesus at the Temple after Parents had been looking form him. Finding him in the Temple, in his fathers house, they were not happy with him because Jesus was suppose to be traveling home with them. Now Jesus knew what he was doing in the temple and that was a place he was suppose to be, however Joesph and Mary were his parents and there request was that he be with them traveling home. He does what he is suppose as we see in Verse 51 "He went down with them and came to Nazareth and was submissive to them." What is so cool about this is wether he agreed with his parents wish Jesus obeyed them and was obedient and submissive to his earthly parents doing the right thing.
How are you getting to know Jesus more in this season?
Prayer: Lord God I pray that the times I don't agree or understand my parents I can show them Jesus by submitting to them and be obedient.
